Built in 1982 in Kalamazoo, this Gibson/ Epiphone USA map guitar is a work of art. Before their move to Nashville was complete, Gibson called a few of their workers back to start a special run of guitars, this was the 55th Map guitar ever made. According to legend, Gibson couldn't use their name on guitars in Kalamazoo so the pieces were branded Epiphone with Gibson serials and Made In The USA on the back of the headstock. This beautiful guitar was built with two large slabs of hand picked mahogany sandwiched together, which gives the guitar extra sustain and resonance. The sound is produced by dual patent number etched humbuckers, which give the guitar that beautiful PAF tone, but with a little more output. The choice maple neck has a super thin D/flat oval profile making it unbelievably comfortable to play while also balancing the sound produced by the mahogany body. This is a very rare collectors item and should not be missed!
