Wesley Pyen - Violin instructor
Wesley started with AMI Studios since 2011 and has taught violin and viola to students from Pre-K through High School. He earned a minor in music from Union College. There he received the Tid Marsh Music Scholarship each year and served as Concert Master for the Union College and Community Orchestra. He has played for 22 years and has been Concert Master or Principle chair at All County and Long Island String festivals during his Elementary, Middle, and High school years. Wesley teaches through a combination of the Suzuki Method and Essential Elements to get students to develop both their ears and sight reading. Students of all ages and levels are encouraged to study with him.
Steve Silverman - Guitar instructor
Steve has over 35 years of experience playing, teaching, and performing. He is the author of several guitar books including Johnny Smith Guitar Solos, Jimmy Raney Guitar Solos, Wes Montgomery Guitar Solos, The Beatles Arranged for Classical Guitar, Select Standards Arranged for Solo Guitar and a volume still in the works tentatively titled The Playbook—for Blues Guitar. Steve has studied with Bob Levine, Howard Morgen, Jerry Willard, John Zaccari, Carl Barry, Billy Bauer, Paul Bollenback, and Tim Siciliano. His former students include Steve Vai, Wayne Avers (the Monkees), and Rob Liefer (American Idol). Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, Steve has something to offer you. He is not merely an accomplished musician, but a talented and dedicated teacher.
Eren "Ed" Demirer is a multi-instrumentalist from upstate New York. In 2011 he earned a Bachelors degree in music and audio recording technology from Five Towns College. There Ed mainly concentrated on jazz/classical voice and piano studies. He has since trained in guitar, and actively performs as a dual guitarist and vocalist. His current project is a six piece jam/soul project known as The Somerton Suitcase, of which he is also one of the main songwriters. Ed has used his knowledge of music to teach privately since 2009. His vision for the future is to actively produce, record, teach, and gig to fully support himself, family, and endeavors. Ed is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience, and enjoys teaching musicians of all ages and skill. He's available for lessons in voice, guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, and trumpet.
Melanie Fink - Drum Instructor
Melanie Fink is a NYS Certified Music Teacher for K-12, with a BM in Music Education from Five Towns College. She graduated Cum Laude, was a member of the Phi Sigma Eta Honor Society, President of MENC Collegiate Chapter and Music Education Club, and Vice President of the Jazz Club. Melanie has been teaching privately since 2004.Melanie is an avid performer, playing drums for the nationally touring, all-female rock band Jackknife Stiletto. She has studied with numerous musicians including Brian Viglione (drummer for The Dresden Dolls) and Bryan Carrott (vibraphonist for Broadway's The Lion King. She has also been a member of concert bands, wind ensembles, percussion ensembles, guitar ensembles, chamber orchestras, choirs, jazz bands, jazz choirs, marching bands and indoor drumlines. Additionally, Melanie was a NYSSMA adjudicator. Career highlights include playing percussion with Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) at The Iridium Jazz Club, NYC, opening for Cherie Currie (The Runaways), Bret Michaels, & Murphy's Law, playing at Warped Tour.
Lou Sposato – Drum Instructor
Lou Sposato is 17 years old and has been playing the drums for over 12 years. Multi-faceted, Lou can play and teach many styles of drums, including rock, metal, latin, funk, jazz etc. Lou also plays and teaches mallet percussion and all types of auxiliary percussion. Lou teaches all levels of NYSSMA.
Tony Tozzi-Guitar Instructor
Tony Tozzi has been playing guitar for over 30 years and has been teaching here at All Music since 1996. Tony has put together an extensive lesson plan which he employs for each one of his students, which is based on all decades of Rock and Roll. He specializes in beginners of all ages and takes them to the intermediate level. He does not teach jazz or classical guitar. He has studied music at both Five Towns College and Nassau Community College.
Andrew Ahr- Guitar instructor
Andrew is a professional guitarist and instructor with eight years of experience. He has a music degree in guitar performance from Five Towns College. He is an ideal choice for students of any age and talent level. You can expect great energy and enthusiasm with every lesson! Whether you are a beginner starting with the basics, or a seasoned veteran looking for new inspiration and direction, Andrew will tailor each lesson around the student’s interests and level of experience. Besides teaching for the past eight years, Andrew is also a working performer. His experience playing with guitar ensembles, and leading his own band brings a unique perspective to his lessons. Ceicilia Kirkland– Vocal Coach
Ceicilia Kirkland began with the piano at the age of five and has been playing the guitar since she was ten. Ms. Kirtland has also studied music at Indiana University, and at Mannes College of Music in Manhattan. She has studied music for over forty yearsand has been teaching for more than thirty. She served as Director of Guitar Ensembles at The Green Vale School in Old Brookville, NY from the fall of 2002 through the spring of 2007. She has performed on national television, listener-supported public radio, in numerous concerts and at clubs, colleges and private affairs, and has contributed background vocals to a number of records.
Gonzolo - Brass Instructor
Gonzalo Romero is a Five Towns College Graduate with a degree in the Field of Music Education for grades K-12 in Both Vocal and Instrumental music. The instrument he majored in at Five Towns were Bass, both electric and upright, and Trombone. He also studied Clarinet as his minor instrument and took a Instrumental techniques class in violin, trumpet and percussion. On his extra time Gonzalo also learned and mastered the Euphonium, and French Horn. Outside of his college studies he has worked as a studio musician and a sub for many bands or orchestras on Long Island and Brooklyn. Gonzalo has been teaching privately for about 10 years and teaching in private and charter school in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan for 3 years.
