Welcome, you are looking at a very rare vintage piece.
This is the 1976 Gibson USA Les Paul Recording Electric Guitar.
24.75" scale. 1 11/16" nut width. 11 lbs 13 oz.
Serial #: 00111954.
The 1976 is a bit different than other Recording models as there is no impedence selector switch, and the low/high impedence jacks are located on the side of the guitar rather than the top.
The Gibson Les Paul has been an icon of guitar for over 50 years. Very few models are as cool as the Low Impedance Recording- the favorite model of Les Paul himself.
Featuring a non-weight relieved mahogany body, this guitar has the perfect vintage Gibby tone.
The dense mahogany also adds that famous vintage Gibson 'push' to the tone.
The Recording was designed to be an extremely versatile guitar and the electronics here take it to a whole new level.
This Recording features dual low impedance stacked humbuckers. All of your favorite Les Paul tones are in here- with a bit more focus due to pickups grabbing a smaller section of the string.
The pickups run into the board with controls for- Volume, Decade rotary, Bass, Treble, a 3-way Tone Selector, Phase switch, and Low/Hi Impedance outputs.
This enables virtually any tone you can imagine- from crystal cleans to out-of-phase sounds.
Of course, all of your favorite Les Paul midrange bridge crunch and neck position sustain are right in here as well.
The vast number of sounds packed into this beauty is mind blowing. Add a low to hi Z adapter, and you can also use this in low impedance mode- designed to run right into the front end of a recording console.
The mahogany neck here features a nice balance between a 50's and 60's neck- .76"-.94" 1st to 12th fret neck depth.
This enables exceptional tone transfer and great sustain.
This is a player and a tone machine.
The look here is classic and sweet- natural walnut finish, multi-ply body/headstock binding, full headstock binding, chrome hardware, and small block inlays- this is a piece of art.
Very good overall condition- there are the typical marks and lacquer checking you expect on a piece of this vintage.
The frets here have typical moderate wear- just professionally set up with action of just 3/32" at the 12th fret.
This auction includes a non-original hardshell case.
This is your chance to get your hands on one of the coolest/rarest Gibsons on the planet- the '76 Les Paul Recording.
