Welcome, you are looking at a great piece.
This is the 2012 Gibson USA Moderne Black Electric Guitar.
24.75" scale. 1 11/16" nut width. 7 lbs.
.72"-.86" 1st to 12th fret neck depth.
The Moderne was introduced at the 1957 NAMM show but never became a Gibson model...until now.
Featuring the radical almost-V body design, this one is definitely an eye catcher.
The lightweight mahogany body/neck makes for an absolute tone machine.
The resonance is excellent with deep lows and cutting mids.
Into that Gibson added dual '57 Classics.
These bring back those great early PAF humbucker tones.
Ballsy with complex mids and a sweetness to the tone.
The bridge pickups barks when you want it to, yet has an incredible 3 dimensional sound.
The neck pickup drips with sustain yet maintains excellent note definition.
The neck here is one of the thinnest I've ever come across on a Gibson- just .77" deep at the 5th fret with a flat C profile- extremely comfortable.
The cutaway on the bottom 'horn' makes getting up to the 22nd fret a true pleasure.
Speaking of comfort, the Moderne can do what you V never could- be played sitting down!
The look here is amazing- inky black finish, small tortoise 'guard, and gold hardware.
This Moderne is in very good overall condition- polish swirls (examples in pics)- typical of a gloss black finish.
The frets here are clean- set up with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.
This auction includes the original hardshell case and case cards. This is your chance to go back to the past and get your hands on one of the most mythical Gibson of all time- the Moderne.
