Welcome, you are looking at a great piece.
This is the 1988 G&L By Leo Fender ASAT Sunburst Electric Guitar.
25.5" scale. 1.65" nut width. 8 lbs 11 oz.
.80"-.90" 1st to 12th fret neck depth.
G&L was started by Leo Fender in 1980.
Leo often said G&L was everything he wanted to accomplish with Fender.
This ASAT is Leo's optimal vision of a Tele- there's virtually no tone out of your reach here.
The medium weight ash body enables good midrange push.
A pair of tortoise-topped single coil pickups grab this natural tone and add in sweet midrange response.
The cleans are certainly everything you want- from bridge 'Tele' sounds with a bit more 'body' to rolled back tone neck warmth. These pickups also handle gain well.
A great chunky crunch quality while retaining 'single coil' high end midrange clarity.
The neck position here has the dripping sustain we all love.
This ASAT offers a fantastic tone palette.
The maple/rosewood neck here has a great feel- .86" deep at the 5th fret with an oval C profile.
Add to that the 7.25" fretboard radius and you have a great player.
The icing on the cake is the 6 saddle bridge, offering a level of intonation not normally found on a 'Tele'.
The look here is absolutely gorgeous- Sunburst finish with the grains peeking through, dot inlays, textured black guard/plate, and black hardware.
This ASAT is in good +/- overall condition as you can see in pictures- typical finish crazing, marks and chips from age and use- nothing that affects the performance.
The frets here are clean- set up with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.
This auction includes the hardshell case in pictures.
This is your chance to get your hands on one of Leo's finest examples.
Don't pass this by!
