Used 2001 Gibson USA Custom Shop Eric Clapton 58 Explorer Electric Guitar YCS58EXMHEC

$ 4,999.95

Welcome, you are looking at a great piece.
This is the 2001 Gibson USA Custom Shop Clapton Explorer Electric Guitar.
24.75" scale length. 1.69" nut width. 8 lbs 6 oz.
.88"-.95" 1st to 12th fret neck depth.
This Explorer was created in Gibson's Custom Art Historic division to celebrate Clapton's own 58 Explorer.
Clapton had removed wood on the back end of his guitar as well as shortened the horn, giving his Explorer a very distinct look.
Those aesthetics were the starting point for the Explorer here.
The mahogany used on this Explorer is just exceptional- look at those striations.
The rosewood fingerboard has some incredible striations as well.
A very special instrument all around.
The mahogany body and set neck join together to create those famous 58 Explorer low end and mid push.
Grabbing up that tone are a pair of Gibson Burstbucker pickups.
The Burstbuckers were a result of Gibson sparing no expense to recreate the magic of the original 'PAF' pickups.
They found a large part of the PAF's special sound was due to mismatched coil impedence, which they applied to the BB's.
This gives this Explorer those exceptional classic overdrives and sweet sustains.
This is a true tone machine.
The neck here has a comfortable C profile- .88"-.95" 1st to 12th frets.
Combine that with the 12" rosewood fingerboard radius, and you have a fantastic player.
The look here is fantastic- natural finish, 3 ply white pickguard, and gold hardware.
This Explorer is in very good overall condition- there is typical light play wear.
The frets here are clean- set up with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.
This auction includes the original hardshell case and COA in pics.
This is your chance to get your hands on a beautiful rarity from Gibson's Custom Shop.
We were a Gibson dealer for well over a decade.
Buy with confidence.
