Voccoli

$ 999.95

Welcome, you are looking at a great piece.
This is the Voccoli 9-String Tele Electric Guitar.
25.5" scale. 1.69" nut width. 7 lbs 1 oz.
.81"-.93" 1st to 12th fret neck depth.
The Voccoli guitars are handmade in Brooklyn New York.
This Tele features a 9-string design- the G, B, & E strings have unisons.
The body here is pine, which offers a light weight, naturally resonant, tone, not to mention the beautiful graining.
This is grabbed by the Gold Foil pickup providing the classic sounds.
This pickup runs to a 3 way switch which has full open to the right, tone control is active in position 2, and position 3 is a darker tone.
This gives you a lot to work with for a one-pickup guitar.
From the builder: "Voccoli "Bridgecasters" are not your ordinary barncasters. They're from the "other side of the bridge," all hand made in Brooklyn, New York. Using reclaimed, salvaged and eco-friendly materials, they embody both the vintage and the modern, the antique but ever changing aspects of the historic borough.
We're happy to present to you this guitar, designed in tribute to Delta blues master Big Joe Williams - who famously modified his guitars with an extra three strings, creating unisons for the 3rd, 5th and 6th strings. Even if you don't know this blues master, you know his songs - both "Baby Please Don't Go" and "Crawling King Snake" were first recorded by him. Williams would tune his guitar to open G and play rhythm and bass lines on the single strings - and then play lead and slide work on the doubled strings, creating a wonderfully large and fascinating sound to support his voice.
Legend has it that he slowly added these three strings over time to stump his friends and stop them from playing with his guitars. Despite that seemingly comical tale, not only is the 9-string design ingeniously designed for open tunings - but it also translates beautifully into standard guitar tuning. The unison strings add a lush texture to chords and provide a built-in chorus effect for lead playing. It's basically mid way between a regular six string and a twelve string in terms of sound -it's broad and lush but not too overbearing. This is a gorgeous tool for any style of playing and great way to add a truly unique texture to a song.
This guitar features a two piece pine body, finished in vintage gunstock oils and shellac. It sports a single DeArmond-style single coil pickup with Eldridge custom shop wiring so players can get three sounds out of a single pickup. The neck is cherry with a Honduran rosewood fretboard. The finish is all lightly weathered for a used aesthetic.
These 9-strings sound beautiful - add one to your collection today!"
This Voccoli is in good overall condition- typical marks you expect on a hand made guitar.
