Welcome, you are looking at an exciting JEM Universe example.
This is the Vai Owned 1989 Ibanez JEM Universe 7-String Electric Guitar.
25.5" scale. 48.5mm nut width. 8 lbs 3 oz.
.70"-.80" 1st to 12th fret neck depth.
This Universe has a fantastic backstory.
This was one of Steve Vai's studio guitars, and, from Vai's recollection, was used on Passion and Warfare.
The guitar was soon after gifted to Mike Hartman, a friend of Vai's, who later joined the DLR Band and recorded 2 songs on that album- King Of The Hill and Indeedido.
There are some very cool items included- a signed Passion and Warfare ad, a personal note from Vai to Hartman, handwritten on Mothership track listing paper, and a Fire Garden postcard from Vai to Hartman.
When Steve gifted the guitar to Mike he also wrote a note on the back of the guitar.
Sadly Mike Hartman passed away in 2000.
Condition-wise there are all the marks you'd expect from a 'stunt guitarist' like Vai, and the typical glue repair between the trem and pickup routes.
This is a fantastic chance to own an instrument from Steve and Mike's personal collections- set up and ready to play.
Don't pass this by!
