Welcome, you are looking at a great piece. This is the 2004 Gibson BB King Lucille Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar. 24.75" scale. 1.69" nut width. 9lbs 15oz. .80"-.90" 1st to 12th fret neck depth. The Lucille is an entity unto itself, BB King has amassed a lifetime of recordings with Lucille being the key ingredient of his famous tone. Starting off with a 'no F-hole' semi-hollow maple body, this Gibson has great natural warm resonance with the maple providing articulation. Grabbing up that sweet natural tone are dual Gibson 490 humbuckers. The bridge pickup is strong and full, with enough power to push amps into that mild overdrive Mr. King is famous for. The neck position humbucker absolutely sings with sweet sustain. Adding to all that is the 6 position Varitone rotary switch. This allows you to add mids for incredible cleans and overdrives. Adding the Varitone during leads can really push you out to the front of the mix. A true tone machine. The maple neck here has a comfortable feel. The stellar feeling neck is slightly beefy at .85" deep at the 5th fret, which adds to this guitar's amazing sustain. Combine that with the ebony board's 12" radius and you have the perfect vehicle for chords and lead work. The look here is pure Lucille- ebony finish, multi-ply body/headstock binding, bound neck, bound tortoise raised pickguard, block inlays, TP-6 fine tuner bridge, and gold hardware. A real beauty. This BB King Lucille is in excellent overall condition as you can see in pictures- typical wear from normal use. The frets are clean, set up with action of just 3/32" at the 12th fret for super playability. We were an authorized Gibson dealer for decades. Buy with confidence. Don't pass this by! |
