This is the Vintage 1961 Silvertone U1 Electric Guitar.
22.25" scale. 1.66" nut width. 5lbs 2oz.
.81"-.86" 1st to 12th fret neck depth.
The Danelectros and Silvertones are sought after vintage pieces. The look, the feel, the tone, it's only available at the source.
This U1 has a fantastic natural 'acoustic' resonance- so you know it's going to be special when you plug in.
The natural resonance combines with the lipstick single coil to create a full sound with the single coil adding nice articulation.
Roll the tone back and this darkens up beautifully.
The neck here is thin- just .84" deep at the 5th fret with a C profile.
Exceptionally comfortable.
The look here is classic Dano copper finish, white vinyl sides, open back strip tuners, Braz rosewood fingerboard, and chrome hardware.
The backplate looks to have been replaced, but everything else here looks to be original.
This Silvertone is in good+ condition- there are the normal marks you expect on a 50+ yr old example.
The action ends up at 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.
Very playable.
The frets themselves are clean.
