Welcome, you are looking at a great piece.
This is the 1980 Guild Artist Award Model Blonde Electric Guitar.
25.5" scale. 1.69" nut. 17" bottom bout. 3.25" deep. 6 lbs 14 oz.
.87"-1.05" 1st to 10th fret neck depth.
The Artist Award Model entered the Guild line in 1956 as the Johnny Smith Award.
It was renamed Artist Award in 1961.
This Artist was made in 1980 and is super clean overall.
Guild pulled all the stops crafting this beauty in terms of woods an appointments.
This Artist starts off with a bookmatched solid spruce top, which, combined with the handcarved highly flamed back/sides creates the perfect platform for archtop tones- warm yet articulate.
The DeArmond Rhythm Chief floating neck pickup allows for beautiful neck comps.
The maple set neck here has a comfortable oval C profile and the ebony board has a 7.25" radius.
The look here is stunning- Blonde finish showing off the deeply grained flame, head to toe multi-ply binding, abalone block inlays, beautiful headstock inlay, etched gold tailpiece, and gold Imperial machines.
This Artist Award is in good overall condition as you can see in pictures- 1" binding reglue on top, finish chip in the same area (pics), light typical play wear and fingerboard binding checks.
The frets here are clean- set up with action of just under 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.
This Guild includes the original hardshell case in pics- interior is sagging and loose in areas.
This is your chance to add a gorgeous Guild Artist Award Model guitar to your collection.
Don't pass this by.
