Welcome, you are looking at a really cool piece.
This is the Vintage 1963 Gretsch 6199 Sal Salvador Electric Guitar
25.5" scale. 1.69" nut width. 17" bottom bout. 3.5" deep. 6 lbs 14 oz.
.85"-.94" 1st to 10th fret neck depth.
The Sal Salvador model was also known as the Convertible'.
This beauty starts off with a maple body, carved spruce top, and set maple neck.
The hollowbody design produces, of course, a nice acoustic tone- the woods here have naturally aged over the last 60 years, enabling a sweet woody tone.
The neck pickup here is a mounted Filter'Tron, rather than the floating HiLo'Tron.
There is a splice between the pickup and electronics inside the body, so this was almost certainly done aftermarket.
The maple/bound ebony oval C neck here offers a comfortable hand feel and plenty of mass for tone transfer.
This Gretsch has a fantastic classic aesthetic- Sunburst finish with vibrant reds, head to toe binding, block inlays, gold guard, Grover Imperial tuners, and gold hardware.
This Gretsch is in good overall condition as you can see in pictures- typical marks from age and normal use, binding checking, as well as lacquer crazing around binding.
The frets here are in good condition- set up with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.
This Gretsch includes its original hardshell case.
This is your chance to get your hands on a vintage classic from Gretsch.
We have been an Gretsch dealer for the better part of a decade.
